Resume

What follows is a chronology of my legal career. For your convenience there is an option to download and print a paper copy of my resume.

I graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1988 and began practicing law in early 1989. I found myself working in an insurance defense firm handling personal injury cases and workers compensation claims. Within the first few months of hire, I got my litigation feet wet with a jury trial on a premises liability suit. The stress and exhilaration of representing someone AND successfully defending their claims convinced me that I made the right choice for a career path. I also discovered that litigation afforded me the opportunity to become a mini-expert in various areas of life. Interactions with clients, witnesses, judges, and other attorneys has been very satisfying.

I continued my litigation practice for several years and was given an opportunity to try something different. My new wife asked me to assist her with running her successful graphic design business. So, for the next few years I discovered the world of computers, internet, printers, graphics, logos, fonts, press checks, deadlines, bills, payroll, bookkeeping, databases, and learning software. We moved from a home office into a new building and grew from 1 employee to 6. Our sales grew by 200%.

Several years and many late nights later of wrapping up projects, I was given a chance to return to the litigation world. I became immersed in the asbestosis/silicosis cases that were thriving in Texas. A whole new adventure provided me the chance to work with many of the top lawyers in the state, and experience being in courtrooms all over East and South Texas. And than it all ended with a single court ruling. Literally overnight the asbestos docket disappeared.

A whole new adventure presented itself to me in the form of opening and operating a neighborhood bar. From getting the liquor license to designing and overseeing the buildout of the new bar, EVERYTHING was learned on the fly! It was very exciting and rewarding. For several years I cultivated a clientele and established a very successful and fun place for neighbors, friends, and newcomers to visit and enjoy.

The bar business grew from one to two to three locations.

As fun and exciting bar ownership was, I really wanted to get back into law. My next adventure placed me in the world of E-discovery. For the last several years I have been involved in the support of hundreds of major litigation projects which has allowed me exposure to a wide variety of industries. You name it, I have seen it.

Thank you again for stopping by my little corner of the internet. What new adventure awaits me?
